Redell “Moose” Walton (basketball) – A native of Chicago, Illinois, was the first All – America basketball player in the history of Savannah State University. He was named to the 1962 NAIA All – America basketball team as a forward on the second team. In 1962, Walton was the ninth leading scorer in the NAIA with a brilliant 29 points per game average. He was All – SEAC from 1959 – 1962.
