worked at Savannah State for seven years (1964-71) as football and men’s basketball coach as well as physical education and biology professor. He coached football from 1964-68 and men’s basketball from 1964-71. Richardson’s football team won the SEAC Championship in 1967 and he was named SEAC Coach of the Year. His 1964-65 basketball team led the NAIA in free throw shooting and the 1966-67 team won the SEAC Seasonal Basketball Championship and he was named SEAC Coach of the Year. Richardson’s 1969-70 basketball team won the SIAC Tournament Championship and he was named SIAC Coach of the Year.
Since 1997, Richardson has been the Executive Director of the South Carolina Institute on Poverty and Deprivation. Richardson resides in Columbia, South Carolina
