was a four-year letterman (1974-78) in football and baseball at Savannah State. A native of Claxton, GA, Blitch was defensive back on the football team and played catcher on the baseball team. He was an All-SIAC defensive back in 1975 and 76 and made the All-SIAC Team in baseball for four years (1975-78). In 1977, Blitch was selected as the baseball team's Most Valuable Player and led the team to the SIAC All-Division Baseball Championship. It was the first SIAC baseball championship in Savannah State’s athletic history. That same year, Blitch was named the MVP of the SIAC All-Division Baseball Championship. Blitch was listed as an All-Star by the 100% Wrong Club of Atlanta, GA.
After his senior year of baseball, Blitch signed a professional baseball contract with the Atlanta Braves and played three years in the minor leagues before a leg injury ended his baseball career. While at Savannah State, Blitch majored in criminal justice. Blitch retired after a career with the State of Georgia, GBI, U.S. Marshall and Fugitive Task Force. Currently, he is the Director of Parks and Recreation for Union City, GA.
