Softball Selected To Finish Fourth In SIAC East

ATLANTA, Ga.- The 2026 preseason softball predictions have been released by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Savannah State University has been picked to finish fourth in the Eastern Division.

Edward Waters University is predicted to win the East followed by Albany State University , Fort Valley State University and SSU. Rounding out the prediction for the East are Clark Atlanta University, Benedict College and Allen University.

Spring Hill College, the defending tournament champions, is predicted to win the SIAC West followed by Tuskegee University, Miles College, Kentucky State University, Lane College and LeMoyne-Owen College.

Voting for the predicted order of finish and preseason all conference teams are done by SIAC head softball coaches.

Savannah State enters the year coming off of a 15-25 campaign where the posted a 11-13 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record. The 15 victories were the most since 2016 when they won 26 games while competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at the Division I level.

The Lady Tigers will start the 2026 season by hosting Voorhees College in a double-header on February 4.

Amber Hallman begins her fourth year as the SSU head softball coach. She will be joined by assistants Antonette Smith and John Powell.
