ORANGEBURG, S.C.- Savannah State participated in the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic which was hosted by South Carolina State on Saturday at the Lorry H. Dawkins Track Facility.
The Lady Tigers finished ninth out of 11 teams with 18 points.
South Carolina State won the meet with 126 points while Claflin was second with 121 points and College of Charleston was third with 101 points.
In the running events,
Macada McDonald (14.52) finished third in the 100m hurdles while
Saniya Swain (16.55) was seventh. McDonald (1:04.15) was fifth in the 400m hurdles and Swain (1:08.88) crossed the finish line 14th.
Nasiya Thomas (13.53) was 15th in the 100m race and
Yahaisha Ramsey (13.55) finished 16th. In the 200m event, Thomas (27.77) was 16th and Ramsey (28.21) was 17th.
In the field events, Swain finished seventh in the triple jump (10.20m) and 15th in the long jump (4.30m).
Lauryn Clark claimed seventh in the discus (28.80) and
Aneya Kight was 16th in the high jump (1.30m).
