COLUMBIA, S.C.- Savannah State University concluded their 2026 outdoor track & field season on Thursday at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Presented by Toyota, the three-day event was held at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track at the University of South Carolina.
The Lady Tigers finished 13th at the meet with ten points.
SSU earned their points in the triple jump and the 4x100m relay.
In the triple jump,
Kionna Chance finished fourth with a leap of 11.03m to earn the team five points while a sixth place finish by
Saniya Swain with her jump of 10.75m gave SSU three points.
The 4x100m relay team of
Samyah Berry,
Alana Jones, Yahaisha Ramsmey and
Saniya Swain had a time of 50.25 to finish seventh which gave Savannah State two points.
In the 100m, Jones (12.53) was 18th, Berry (13.28) was 29th and Ramsey (13.32) finished 30th.
Victoria Taylor finished 21st in the 200m race with a time of 26.30 and Jones was 27th following her run of 26.77.
Camille Tinsley's time of 1:04.34 was good enough for her to finish 21st in the 400m race.
Swain finished 13th in the 400m hurdles with a run of 1:10.19 and
Shovonne Harp was 23rd with a time of 1:15.95.
In the field events,
Hallii Thomas had a leap of 1.40m and finished 17th in the high jump while in the discus,
Lauryn Clark was 21st with her throw of 26.44m and
Taylor Clark was 26th following her toss of 18.80.
Saniya Swain competed in the heptathlon where she finished 11th with 3,071 points.
Tuskegee University was the overall winner in the meet with 230 points.
