ALBANY, Ga.- Savannah State's 4x100m relay team posted a time of 49.45 to finish third in their race at the Alice Coachman Invitational on Saturday at the Robert Cross Track & Field Complex.
The SSU relay team was made up of
Samyah Berry,
Victoria Taylor,
Alana Jones and
Saniya Swain.
Also coming in third for Savannah State was
Kionna Chance who had a jump of 10.81m in the triple jump.
In other field events, Swain was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.33m and Chance's jump of 4.62m was good enough for 10th in the long jump.
Taylor Clark finished 11th in the discus with a throw of 18.51m and
Lauryn Clark was 14th in the hammer throw with her toss of 22.09m.
In the hurdles, Swain was fifth in the 400m hurdles with a run of 1:11.10 while placing seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.87.
Alana Jones claimed sixth in the 100m race after being timed at 12.54 followed by
Yahaisha Ramsey (13.06) who was 10th and
Samyah Berry (13.32) who finished 12th.Â
In the 200m competition,
Victoria Taylor (26.32) was seventh while Ramsey (27.26) was 13th and
Camille Tinsley (27.46) was right behind her at 14th.
Tinsley came in seventh in the 400m race with a run of 1:04.35.
Savannah State came in fifth in the meet with 29 points, behind Fort Valley State (44) but ahead of Edward Waters who finished with 18 points.
Albany State won the meet with 310 points followed by Brewton-Parker (119) and Columbus State (101) to round out the top three.
