ALBANY, Ga.- For the first time since 2022, Savannah State participated in the Alice Coachman Invitational.
The 2025 meet, which is hosted by Albany State was held on Saturday at the Hampton Smith Fields at the Robert Cross Track & Field Complex.
Macada McDonald led the Savannah State women with a pair of second place finishes.
McDonald was second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.71 and in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.78.
Saniya Swain also had a good day at the track, finishing fourth in the triple jump (10.58m), seventh in the 400m hurdles (1:08.87) and ninth in the 100m hurdles (15.96).
Samyah Berry was 16th in the shot put with a toss of 5.18m.
In the 100m race,
Victoria Taylor was 18th after her run of 13.03 and
Nasiya Thomas was 21st with her run of 13.32.
Yahaisha Ramsey finished 25th with a time of 13.56 and
Taylor Clark was 27th following her run of 13.73.
Taylor finished 15th in the 200m race with a run of 26.62,
Kinya Jackson was 21st with her time of 27.40 and Ramsey claimed 23rd with her time of 27.73. Thomas was right behind Ramsey at 24th with her time of 28.11 and Clark claimed 29th with her time of 29.99.
Savannah State finished seventh out of ten teams at the meet with 23 points.
Albany State won first place with 151 points followed by Clark Atlanta (123), Florida A&M (108), Fort Valley State (65) and Columbus State (59) to round out the top five.
