GAINESVILLE, Fla.- Da'Aliyah Jonson finished third in the long jump to lead the Savannah State women's track & field team at the Celebration Pointe Classic which was held February 2-3, 2024 at the Alachua County Events Center.
 
Johnson's leap of 5.47m was good enough for third place, finishing right ahead of her was teammate, Sadrea Mabry, who placed fourth with her jump of 5.43m.
 
Others from SSU in the long jump were Ky'Leigha Robinson and A'mijyaDudley. Robinson was 16th with a jump of 4.88m while Dudley's leap of 4.35m had her in 27th.
 
In the 60m run, Johnson (8.22) was 29th, Nadia Mathews (8.24) was 31st, Jeainna Bryant (8.53) was 38th and Teauna Thomas (8.56) was 40th.
 
Ravyn Cystrunk finished 16th in the 400m race with a time of 1:01.68 and Maddison Green was 26th with her time of 1:04.79.
 
Savannah State had three top 20 finishes in the 60m hurdles competition.
 
Freshman Shaniah McDaniel had a time of 9.33 to finish 10th, Bryant's time of 9.51 was good enough for 12th and Robinson's run of 9.85 secured her for 17th.
 
SSU will close the indoor season on February 17 at the USC Invite in Columbia, South Carolina.
