Mabry Leads Lady Tigers At Alice Coachman Invitational

FULL RESULTS

ALBANY, Ga. – Sophomore Sadrea Mabry led Savannah State women's track and field at the Alice Coachman Invitational this weekend, hosted by Albany State.

Mabry not only won the triple jump, and set a new personal best record, but set the standard for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and NCAA Division II with her performance. Mabry recorded a 12.25m effort in the event to top the charts across the conference and division.

It was enough to receive a provisional mark from the NCAA which will put Mabry in the running to compete in the triple jump event at the 2022 NCAA Division II Championship. Mabry was named the SIAC Field Performer of the Week on March 15 for her efforts in the triple jump at GATA Classic on March 12.

Mabry finished seventh in the long jump with a 5.50m effort. She was followed by teammate Toni Pellington who recorded a 5.20m jump.  In the high jump, Jahvene Walder finished second with a 1.57m jump. Pellington tied for third with Florida A&M's Skila Rogers with a 1.52m jump in the same event.

On the track, Kayla Chance won the 1500m event with a time of 5:15.88—Chance holds the school record in the event. She was followed by teammate Simone Johnson who set a new personal best record with a time of 5:17.48 and a second place finish.
