Lady Tigers Top The Results At Golden Isle Relays

FULL RESULTS

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Savannah State women's track and field topped the results at the Golden Isle Relays this weekend.
 
Kayla Chance—who holds a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) title in cross country—led the Lady Tigers on the track. Chance finished first in the 1500m run with a time of 5:27.17. Simone Johnson finished just behind her in second place, running a 5:35.38.
 
Chance won the 5000m race as well with a time of 20:03.64. One of the most decorated Savannah State track and field athletes, Chance holds the school record for the outdoor 1500m event as well as the 1 mile indoor track and field event.
 
In the 100m dash, Jahvene Walder ran a 12.28 to finish second. Ravyn Cystrunk was just behind with a 12.59, finishing third. Jasmine Williams ran a 1:09.40, finishing fourth in the 400m dash.
 
The team of Teauna Thomas, Cystrunk, Sadrea Mabry and Walder won the 4x100m relay with a time of 50.78.
