Thomas Leads Lady Tigers At Annual Orange and Blue Meet

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State women's track and field hosted the annual Orange and Blue meet on Saturday and saw several new personal best records and first places finishes.  
 
Teauna Thomas led the Lady Tigers on the track with one of her strongest outings this season. Thomas won the 100m dash with a time of 12.93. In the 200m, she finished second with a new personal best time of 27.48.
 
Ravyn Cystrunk won the 200m with a time of 27.03 and finished behind Thomas in the 100m with a time of 12.93.
 
Kayla Chance won the 800m dash with a time of 2:29.12 followed by teammate Simone Johnson who finished second with a time of 2:31.20. Johnson set a new personal best in the 1500m finishing second with a time of 5:31.35. Chance won the 1500m run with a time of 5:20.88.
 
The relay team of Jahvene Walder, Cystrunk, Johnson and Thomas won the 4x400 with a time of 4:25.96.
 
In field events, Toni Pellington led the Lady Tigers winning the long jump with a distance of 5.21m. Sadrea Mabry finished second with a 5.15m effort and Da'Aliyah Johnson finished third with a 4.95m jump. Mabry won the triple jump event with an 11.73m effort.
 
Sarah Ross finished second in the shot put with a personal best throw of 8.78m. Ross finished third in both the discus and javelin events with a distance of 25.95m and 17.30m, respectively.
