SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (10-15, 7-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) hosts Coppin State University (7-18, 7-6 MEAC) Monday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena after having its four game win streak snapped the last time out.  The Lady Tigers have won eight of the past 10 games.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to Morgan Sate 50-43 Saturday.  Senior center Tiyonda Davis led SSU with 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, while shooting 7-for-14 from the floor, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards added nine points, five rebounds and senior guard Kenyata Hendrix and graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss each added eight points.
 
Each team has won three games each in this series, but the Lady Tigers have won the last three meetings.
 
Hendrix leads the team with 11.2 points per game, while Moss is averaging 11.1 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 8.9 rebounds per game and with 3.8 blocks per game and averages 8.1 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game and 6.8 points per game.
 
In conference play, Moss leads the team with 11.7 points per game, while Hendrix is averaging 11.3 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 10.3 rebounds per game and with 4.5 blocks per game and averages 9.3 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 7.6 rebounds per game and 7.8 points per game.
 
Davis ranks fourth in the MEAC in rebounds per game (8.9), which ranks 62nd in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and is second in blocks per game (3.8), which ranks third in the NCAA and third in the country with 88 blocks.  In her career, the Athens, Ga., native holds the school record in the Division I era with 287 career blocks and with 932 career rebounds.  She also ranks seventh with 871 career points and fourth with 375 career made field goals.  Davis recorded four blocks at Morgan State to give her 92 blocks this season, which set the school record in a single season.
 
Hendrix holds the school record in the Division I era with 180 career made 3-pointers and is the third Lady Tiger to record 1,000-plus points with 1,164, which ranks second in school history, and ranks second with 405 made field goals.
 
Coppin State has won the last two games against Delaware State University (77-64) and at South Carolina State University (66-63).  The Eagles are led by Genesis Lucas with 13.4 points per game and is averaging 3.2 rebounds per game, while Keena Samuels is averaging 12.8 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game and Chance Graham leads the team with 8.4 rebounds per game and is averaging 6.8 points per game.
 
The Lady Tigers travel to North Carolina for two games starting with North Carolina A&T State University (11-14, 7-5 MEAC) Saturday at 2 p.m. in Greensboro.
