SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University softball team (19-19, 8-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) faces North Carolina A&T State University (13-26, 2-7 MEAC) for the final home MEAC weekend series with a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and a solo game Sunday, Senior Day, at noon at the Lady Tiger Softball Field.
The Lady Tigers have won nine of the last 11 games, including a doubleheader split against Jacksonville on Tuesday with a 14-10 loss in game one and an 8-4 win in game two.
Junior
Alexis Singleton leads the Lady Tigers with a .412 (54-for-131) batting average and has scored 23 times with five doubles and 17 RBIs, while senior first baseman
Torrian Wright is batting .403 (25-for-62) with 16 runs scored, seven doubles, three home runs and 17 RBIs with a slugging percentage of .661 and an on-base percentage of .655.
Junior left fielder
Chasney Jenkins in batting .369 (38-for-103) with 29 runs scored, three doubles, a triple, a home run and 17 RBIs with a .526 on-base percentage, while freshman third baseman
Cortni Jones is batting .367 (40-for-109) with 28 runs scored, seven doubles, eight home runs and 29 RBIs with a .651 slugging percentage.
Singleton's batting average ranks third in the MEAC and 70
th in the NCAA, while Wright's batting average ranks sixth in the conference. Wright leads the MEAC and the NCAA in on-base percentage and with 1.39 walks per game, while Jenkins is third in the MEAC in on-base percentage and 35
th in the NCAA and second in the conference with 0.86 walks per game, which ranks 14

Ashley Eichenlaub leads the MEAC with 0.76 walks allowed per seven innings, which ranks sixth in the NCAA.
As a team, the Lady Tigers are hitting .319 (323-for-1012) with 188 runs scored, 51 doubles, seven triples, 20 home runs and 165 RBIs with a .443 slugging percentage and a .418 on-base percentage. The batting average ranks second in the MEAC and ranks 34
th in the NCAA, while the slugging percentage ranks second in the conference and ranks 84
th in the NCAA. The Lady Tigers lead the MEAC in on-base percentage and 19
th in the NCAA and ranks second in home runs per game with 0.53, while SSU ranks third in the conference with 4.95 runs per game and fourth with 1.34 doubles per game.
On the mound, Hallman leads the team with a 10-9 record and with a 4.35 ERA, which ranks ninth in the MEAC, giving up 74 earned runs on 137 hits in 119.0 innings pitched with 94 strikeouts, which ranks fourth in the conference and 146
th in the NCAA. Opponents are hitting .275, which ranks fifth in the conference.
As a team, the Lady Tigers are sporting a 4.40 ERA giving up 158 earned runs on 297 hits in 251.1 innings pitched with 142 strikeouts.
North Carolina A&T has lost the last 12 games, including losing the last six MEAC games. The last Aggie win was against South Carolina State in the series finale on March 26 with a 9-0 win.
The Aggies are led by Raven Gray with a .416 (37-for-89) batting average with 21 runs scored, four doubles, two triples, three home runs and 18 RBIs, while Zadaisha Waddell is batting .378 (28-for-74) with 17 runs scored, three doubles, six home runs and 22 RBIs and Janika May is batting .329 (26-for-79) with 22 runs scored, eight doubles and 16 RBIs.
On the mound, May is sporting a 4-5 record with a 4.40 ERA giving up 31 earned runs on 56 hits in 49.1 innings pitched, while Mohagony Headen leads the team with a 5-2 record and has a 4.54 ERA giving up 40 earned runs on 60 hits in 61.2 innings pitched.
As a team, NCAT is hitting .297 (221-for-744) with 146 runs scored, 32 doubles, seven triples, 14 home runs and 126 RBIs. On the mound, the Aggies are sporting a 4.90 ERA giving up 128 earned runs on 211 hits in 183.0 innings pitched with 124 strikeouts.
The Lady Tigers conclude their 10-game homestand against in-state rival Georgia Southern Wednesday with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. at the Lady Tiger Softball Field.
