Biography

2015: Named the Preseason Player of the Year and the Postseason Player of the Year … Two time Player of the Week (April 7, May 4) … led the National Collegiate Athletic Association in batting average (.566), on-base percentage (.748), slugging percentage (1.229) and walks (56) … started all 39 games and recorded 47 hits and scored 43 runs with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs … led the MEAC with a .633 (19-for-30) batting average in conference play with six home runs and 22 RBIs … In conference play, recorded a 1.300 slugging percentage and a .784 on-base percentage with 20 walks … scored 11 runs in the final eight conference games and nine hits in the final five conference game for a batting average of .818.

2014: Wright continued to be dominant in her sophomore season. She was named the 2014 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason Player of the Year and the 2014 MEAC Player of the Year. Wright is the first Lady Tiger to garner MEAC Preseason Player, Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. She started in 43 games for SSU and finished with a .346 batting average,  a .536 on-base percentage, and a .757 slugging percentage. Wright had 31 runs on 37 hits with five doubles, 13 home runs and 41 RBI. She led both the Lady Tigers and the MEAC in RBI and home runs. Nationally, Wright was ranked 27 in home runs per game, 33 in slugging percentage and 13 in on base percentage. Wright anchored first base for SSU, finishing second on the team in putouts with 193. She had a .972 fielding percentage with 17 assists. After two years, Wright has a .371 career batting average, a .784 slugging percentage, 14 doubles, 29 home runs, and 92 RBI.
 
2013: Wright opened her colligate softball career with a remarkable season. After the regular season she was named the 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC)  Rookie of the Year after garnering three MEAC Rookie of the Week awards during the season. Wright led the Lady Tigers in batting average (.384), slugging percentage (.797), hits (53), RBI (51), and home runs (16). She led the MEAC in home runs and was second in RBI. Her home run and RBI stats were both SSU single season school records. Nationally, Wright was ranked 23rd in home runs per game, and 32nd in RBI per game. In the field, Wright anchored first base and occasionally was a backup at third base. She ended with 199 putouts and a .959 fielding percentage
