THE GAME:
Savannah State women's basketball opens the program's 86th season against Columbia College tonight, after beating cross town rival Armstrong State, 96-84, in the lone exhibition game of the preseason.

Senior Ezinne Kalu returns for her fifth and final season. She led the field with 31 points in the Nov. 6 exhibition game.

SSU returns all five starters from the highly successful 2013-14 season. Joining Kalu in possible starting roles are Kenyata Hendrix, Bria Dorsey, Jasmine Norman and Tiyonda Davis.

Norman followed Kalu in scoring in the Lady Tigers' win over Armstrong, registering 20 points. Hendrix was close behind with 18 points in the high-scoring affair.

SSU has opened the last two seasons against Columbia, and scheduled them five of the last six years. The Lady Tigers are 5-0 against the Fighting Koalas since the 2008-09 season.
