SSU Pitchers Throw One-Hitter

SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State pitchers Krystle Frost and Rachel West each threw
one-hitters as Savannah State swept a double-header from NAIA opponent Fisher at the
Paulson Complex.

The Lady Tigers won the opener 8-0 and the nightcap 13-0.

The wins give SSU a 6-6 record.

SSU scored three runs off two hits in the first inning as Brittney Lollis, Tiffany
Taylor and Brittany Wilson each drove in runs.

Shamyra Adams hit a RBI single in the second for a 4-0 lead and Wilson drove in
another run in the sixth to increase the Lady Tigers advantage to 5-0.

Three more runs crossed the plate in the sixth as Adams drove in two runs with a
double and Jessica Weimeskirk singled to bring home Adams.

SSU collected 10 hits while Fisher made three errors.

Adams went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored at the plate while Frost struck out
seven batters on the mound.

In game two, Weimeskirk and Taylor each drove in three runs while West struck out
five batters.

SSU collected 10 hits while Fisher made four errors.

After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Tigers exploded for nine runs in the second.

Taylor led off with a single and scored on a triple by Wilson. Diamyn Woods singled
to drive home Woods for a 2-0 lead. Ford then reached on a error. Jasmine Brown hit
a sacrifice fly which allowed Woods to score. Alexis Carson walked and Adams was
hit by a pitch to load the bases. Weimeskirk walked which brought home Blaine Ford.
Lollis singled which allowed Carson to score and Taylor came to the plate again and
hit a bases clearing triple for a 8-0 lead. Wilson hit a sacrifice fly that allowed
Taylor to score to make the score 9-0.

Adams singled in the third and came home on a single by Lollis to run SSU's lead to
10-0.

Fisher made two errors in the fourth as Savannah State scored three runs off two
hits. Brown had an RBI and Weimeskirk drove in two runs with a single.
