ATLANTA, Ga.- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 women's basketball predicted order of finish on Wednesday and Savannah State University was predicted to finish fourth in the SIAC Eastern Division.
Savannah State finished fourth in the SIAC East last year with a 12-15 overall record while posting a 7-12 mark in conference play.
The Lady Tigers earned a berth in the SIAC Tournament where they defeated Kentucky State 66-47 in the opening round but lost to Miles in the quarterfinals 64-43.
Clark Atlanta is predicted to win the SIAC East followed by Edward Waters, Allen and SSU. After Savannah State, Benedict is predicted to finish fifth,with Fort Valley State and Albany State predicted to make up the sixth and seventh place teams.
In the SIAC West, Miles, the defending conference champion, is predicted to be the front-runner while Tuskegee, Lane and Kentucky State are figured to come in second thru fourth. Predicted to finish fifth is Central State while Spring Hill is predicted to come in sixth and Lemoyne-Owen in seventh.
Phillip Wallace, Jr. will begin his second tour as the Savannah State head coach this season. Wallace began his coaching career at Savannah State in 1990, spending five seasons leading the program where he compiled a 105-38 record.
Savannah State will begin the 2025-26 season on November 15th at home against Barber-Scotia in a exhibition game before starting the regular season on Nov. 17th hosting Trinity Baptist.
