KATY, Tx.- Savannah State had a second place finish in the National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship which was held April 1-2 at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. The event was sponsored by the Women in Golf Foundation.
The Lady Tigers had a team score of 1064 (347-365-352) to finish behind Edward Waters (1007).
Lincoln (MO) was third with a score of 1076 followed by JWU Charlotte (1091). Fisk played in the first two rounds but not the third round.
Low medalist for Savannah State was
Miracle Goolsby who had a three-round score of 251 (83-84-84) to finish in seventh. Goolsby shot for par eight times in the first round and had a birdie on the fourth hole. She shot for par seven times in the second round with four of those coming on the back nine on the 12th, 13th, 16th and 18th holes while shooting for par six times in the third round.
Corryn Rodney finished 13th with a score of 269 (88-89-92). Rodney shot for par 12 times in the tournament.
Right behind Rodney was
Morgan Wilkerson whose score of 270 (87-93-90) was good enough for 14th. On the first day of action, Wilkerson shot for par on the sixth thru ninth holes in the first round and 13 times for the tournament. In the final round, Wilkerson made birdies on the 12th and 15th roles.
Angela Dodson carded a 275 (89-99-87) to come in 15th. She shot for par five times in the second round.
Jenna Wilson was 17th with her score of 285 (93-101-91). Wilson shot for par 11 times with five of those coming in the third round.
Ziporah Ward, who was playing as a independent, had a score of 93 in the first round but didn't play in the second or third rounds. Ward shot for par on the 11th, 12th and 15th holes.
Divya Gunasegar of Lincoln (MO) was the overall low medalist with a score of 223 (73-73-77).
Savannah State will next turn their attentions to the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship on April 18th-20th at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
