SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State's women's golf team began their spring season on Tuesday with a dual match against Peach Celt Conference rival Edward Waters.
Playing at Crosswinds Golf Club, EWU defeated Savannah State 345 to 368.
Morgan Wilkerson and Jenna Wilson both finished tied for fourth with a score of 90 while Corynn Rodney was right behind in sixth after carding a 92.
Wilkerson shot for par six times with four of them coming on the front nine while Wilson shot for par five times with four coming on the front nine as well. Rodney shot par on holes 8-11 and 15.
Tied for eighth were Angela Dodson and Ziporah Ward with a score of 96.
Dodson shot par on hole 11, 13 and 14 while Ward was the only SSU player to make a birdie. Ward made birdies on the ninth and 11th holes and shot for par on holes 4, 10 and 18 .
The Lady Tigers will next tee off at the Savannah State Spring Invitational on March 9th & 10th at Crosswinds Golf Club.
