TIGERVILLE, S.C.- Savannah State finished fifth in the Trailblazer Spring Invitational that was hosted by North Greenville on Monday and Tuesday at the Cherokee Valley Country Club.
The Lady Tigers shot 362 in the opening round and carded a 369 in the second round for a score of 731.
Morgan Wilkerson was the low medalist for SSU. The freshman from Jacksonville, Florida just missed finished in the top ten, shooting 171 (83-89) for 11th place.
Wilkerson shot birdies on the fifth and eighth holes in the first round and shot for par six times in the second round.
Zell Wilson finished tied for 19th with her score of 179 (87-92) while
Jenna Wilson was tied for 23rd following her two-round score of 185 (92-93).
Zell Wilson also made a birdie on he fifth hole in the first round while making par seven times on Monday.
Jenna Wilson shot for par eight times in the tournament.
Rounding out the Savannah State participants were
Corynn Rodney who was tied for 34th with a score of 196 (100-96) and
Angela Dodson who finished 36th after carding a 210 (100-110).
Rodney made a birdie on the eighth hole in the second round and Dodson finished the tournament making par five times.
Christian Brothers won the event with a score of 637 while CBU's Chloe Williamson was the overall low medalist with a score of 155.
Savannah State next travels to Katy, Texas for the 2026 edition of the Women In Golf Championship next Monday, March 30th-Wednesday, April 2nd at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch.
