ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Zell Wilson fired a 78 in the final round on Tuesday as Savannah State University ended their season in the Peach Belt Golf Tournament at the King & Bear Golf Course.
After making par eight times and shooting a 86 in the first round, Wilson made a birdie on the seventh hole in the second round while carding a 85. The Chicago, Illinois native shot 78 in the third round, made a birdie on the 16th hole and made par ten times to finish with a score of 249.
Zell Wilson's score of 249 was good enough to finish 23rd in the tournament.
Morgan Wilkerson claimed 28th with her score of 272 (89-95-88).
The Jacksonville, Florida native made a birdie in the opening round on the 12th hole and made birdies on the ninth holes in the second and third rounds.
Another Jacksonville, Florida native,
Jenna Wilson was right behind Wilkerson and finished 29th with a score of 278 (93-88-97).
In the first round,
Jenna Wilson shot a birdie on the 14th hole and made another one on the 11th hole in the final round of play. Wilson made par five times in the second round.
Ziporah Ward finished 31st and
Angela Dodson was 33rd.
Ward shot 287 (93-99-95) and made a birdie on the first hole in the first round. The Atlanta, Georgia native made par on the eighth and 18th holes in the second round and on the fourth and 15th holes in the third round.
Dodson, who finished the tournament with a score of 304 (100-104-100), made par twice in the first and second rounds and four times in the third round on the second, sixth, 11th and 12th holes.
As a team, Savannah State finished seventh with a score of 1086 (361-367-358).
Flagler won the conference tournament with a score of 910.
