SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State's score of 738 was good enough for a second place at the SSU Invitational which wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon at Crosswinds Golf Course.
Because of Monday's weather, only 36 holes were played.
The Lady Tigers had a team score of 359 in the first round and finished up with a score of 379.
Low medalist for Savannah State was Micarle Goolsby, who was tied for sixth with a score of 176 (84-92).
Angela Dodson's score of 184 (90-94) had her tied for 12th while
Morgan Wilkerson, who made a pair of birdies, was tied for 14th after shooting 186 (89-97).
In the 17-20 spots were
Jenna Wilson, Corynn Rodney, Zee Ward and
Jerina Hill.
Wilson shot 192 (96-96), Rodney shot 194 (97-97) while Ward carded a 205 (108-97) and Hill finished with a score of 208 (107-101).
Newberry won the women's title with a score of 662 followed by SSU, Bluefield State (744), and Edward Waters (777). Johnson & Wales did not finish the tournament.
Natalia Aguilar of Newberry shot 154 to lead all golfers.
The Lady Tigers return to the links on March 24th & 25th as they head to the Upstate of South Carolina to take part in the North Greenville University Invitational.
