BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Savannah State opened their spring golf season by participating in the ASU Spring Classic which was hosted by Alabama State. The event, which took place on Sunday and Monday at the Arrowhead Country Club, was shorten to 36 holes because of inclement weather.

Savannah State finished tied for 9th with Southern, a Division I program. The Tigers had a team score of 644 (324-320).

Jaden Saunders ended the event tied for 17th after shooting 78 in both rounds for a score of 156 and Mark Greene was tied for 31st following his score of 161 (78-83).

Aaron Stocks and Parker Middleton were tied for 38 with scores of 165. Stocks shot 84 in the first round and improved his score to 81 in the second round while Middleton shot 87 in the opening round and then shaved off nine strokes for a 78 in the final round of play.

Xavier Dozier finished 42nd with his score of 167 (84-83).

Kentucky State captured first place with a score of  606 (299-307). Kci Lindskog of Texas Southern had the lowest score which was 146 (72-74).
