TRAVELERS REST, S.C.- Savannah State participated in the Cherokee Valley Spring Bash that was held April 8-9, 2024 at the Cherokee Valley Country Club.
 
The Lady Tigers finished the ten team event with a two-round score of 751 (380-371).
 
On the first day of action, J'Davia McCallum had a score of 88 as she shot for par on the second, fifth, eighth and 17th holes. She also made birdies on the 10th and 16th holes. Angela Dodson carded a 91 in the opening round while shooting for par on the second, eighth and 16th holes while Miracle Goolsby (93) made a birdie on the 16th hole while shooting for par on the third and ninth holes.
 
Jerina Hill shot 108 in the first round with pars on the third and fourth holes while Kaila Leonard shot a 120 on the first day of action while making par on the second hole.
 
Savannah State trimmed nine strokes off their game in the second round.
 
McCallum made a birdie on the 14th hole while shooting for par eight times on the first, third, fourth, 10th, 11th, 12th, 16th and 18th holes. Goolsby shot a 86 on the second day with a birdie on the eighth hole. She also shot for par on the fourth, seventh, 10th, 13th and 15th holes.
 
Hill carded a 98 in the second round and shot for par on the third, fourth and 12th holes. Dodson shot 102 on the second day while Leonard carded a 124.
 
McCallum finished the tournament tied for 28th with a score of 173, Goolsby was tied for 35th with a 179 and Dodson was tied for 45th with a score of 193. Hill carded a 206 to finish 49th while Leonard was 52nd with a 244.
 
As a team, SSU made five birdies and shot for par 28 times.
 
Shorter won the event with a score of 635 while Taylor Young of Shorter was low medalist with a score of 150.
