ATLANTA, Ga.- Savannah State's 4x100m relay team earned a second place finish at the Clark Atlanta Panther Classic on March 9, 2024 at Panther Stadium.

Justyn Yancy,
Yastremski Johnson, Soloman Mitchell,
Christian Landry had a time of 42.75.

Overall, SSU compiled 26 points to finish 11th in the 20-team event.

The top five teams were Columbus State (118), Morehouse (78), Hope (74), West Alabama (51) and Augusta (44).

In other running events, Johnson was 11th in the 100m with a time of 11.15 and in the 200m race, Yancy was 15th (22.65), Johnson was 19th (22.72) and Landry was 25th (23.02).

Landry bounced back with a third place finish in the 400m with a time of 50.14 and
Jordan Scruggs was 30th with a run of 52.66.

Jadon Rountree's run of 1:58.70 was good enough for fourth in the 800m race.

In the 110m hurdles,
Nyzaveon Thompson was fifth and Nehemiah Shanks placed 12th. Thompson had a run of 15.72 while Shanks was clocked at 17.00.

Thompson was sixth (58.76) in the 400m hurdles and Shanks finished tenth (59.35).

In the field events,
Tony Rountree,
Evan Guyton and
Donovan Holdip all competed in the shot put. Rountree was tenth with a throw of 12.90m, Guyton was 17th with a toss of 12.18m and Holdip finished 40th with a toss of 8.72m.

Holdip was 32nd in the javelin after his throw of 13.53m.
