LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Savannah State finished seventh at the 2026 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship that was held Thursday and Friday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
The Tigers finished with 52 points and ended the two-day meet with a dozen top ten finishes.
Headlining the winners were
Dominique Bailey and
D'Anthony Glover.
Bailey defended his crown by winning the Heptathlon again while Glover claimed first place in the high jump.
A senior from Atlanta, Georgia, Bailey finished the Heptathlon with 4,161 points while Glover, a freshman from Jacksonville, Florida, had a leap of 2.05m.
Xavier Wilson was second in the triple jump (14.69m) while
Kajuan Davis was third in the 60m hurdles (8.34) and
Jakobe Mobley was third in the high jump (2.00m).
Jaden-Wayne McPhearson finished sixth in the 800m (2:04.27) and was seventh in the one mile (4:42.58).
Also finishing seventh were
Evan Guyton in the shot put (13.83m) and
Raymond McKoy in the high jump (1.95m).
Braylin Grier took eighth in the 800m (2:26.06) and the 400m (50.0) as did Glover in the long jump (6.69m).
The 4x400m relay squad of
Kajuan Davis,
Yastremski Johnson,
Kamari Kindle and
Jakobe Mobley were ninth with a run of 3:36.44 while in the weight throw,
Donovan Holdip was 11th with his throw of 12.09m and Guyton finished 18th following his toss of 9.09m.
Morehouse was the overall winner with 149 points followed by Tuskegee (92), Benedict (85), Kentucky State (77.5) and Central State (74.5) to round out the top five. Following Central State was Allen (72), SSU, Lane (35) and Edward Waters (18).
