GAINESVILLE, Fla.- The Savannah State men's indoor track & field team competed at the Florida University Last Chance Meet on February 9, 2024 at the Alachua County Events Center at Celebration Pointe.

SSU competed in ten events at the one day meet and had eight top ten finished and eight top 20 finishes.
Â
Nyzaveon Thompson led the way with a third place finish in the 60m hurdles with a run of 8.24.
Â
Solomon Mitchell finished fourth in the long jump (6.64m) and was seventh in the triple jump (13.28).
Dominique Bailey also participated in the long jump and finished ninth with a leap of 6.34m. Bailey finished seventh in the high jump with a 1.90m.

In the shot put,
Tony Rountree was fifth with his throw of 13.45m while teammates
Evan Guyton was 10th with a toss of 11.85m and
Donovan Holdip finished 17th with his throw of 9.62m. Holdip was 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.55m.

Jadon Rountree was 13th in the 800m race with a run of 1:59.23. In the 400m,
Christian Landry was sixth with a time of 50.24 and
Alex Loyd finished 18th with a run of 52.82.

Mitchell was 13th in the 200m with a run of 22.46 followed by Landry, who was 17th with a time of 22.78 and
Yastremski Johnson who was 18th with a run of 22.83.

Johnson's time of 7.09 was good enough for him to finish18th in the 60m race and
Justyn Yancy was timed at 7.21 to finish 26th.
