STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga.- Savannah State was one of seven golf programs to participate in the 39th Annual Thomas W. Dortch HBCU Golf Classic which took place on September 23-24 at the Stone Mountain Golf Club.

Savannah State finished fifth overall with a team score of 741 (370-371) and had the best score of the non-Division I programs.
Â
Miracle Goolsby led the Lady Tigers with a score of 172 (86-86) to finish 20th while
Angela Dodson, Morgan Wilkerson, Ziporah Ward and
Jerina Hill were not too far behind her.

Goolsby made a birdie on the eighth hole in the opening round and shot for par six times in each of the rounds.

Dodson shot 187 (89-98) to finish 24th, Wilkerson was 25th after shooting a 190 (97-93). Ward carded a 196 (98-98) to come in 25th and Hill was 28th after shooting 200 (106-94).

Dodson shot for par five times while Wilkerson made two birdies in the first round and another on the ninth hole in the second round and also shot for par five times.Â

Ward made a birdie on the second hole in the second round and shot for par six times. Hill also shot for par six times with five of them coming in the second round of play.

North Carolina Central claimed the top spot with a score of 621.
Â
Chicago State was second with a score of 636 followed by Delaware State (643), Tennessee State (671), SSU, Paine (800) and Fisk (n/a).

Delaware State's Claudia Hofmeister was low medalist with a score of 151.
