SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State University softball team has released its 2024 schedule.

Head Coach
Amber Hallman, who is heading into her second season in leading the Lady Tigers, enters the new campaign coming off of a 7-21 campaign in 2023. She will be assisted by
Madison Hedderly and
Victoria Roberts.
Â
Savannah State will play at least 40 games in 2024 in which 19 will be at home. The Lady Tigers will also participate in the SIAC Crossover as well as the CIAA/SIAC Challenge.

The schedule will include non-conference game with Paine College, University of South Carolina Beaufort, Flagler College, Brewton-Parker College, College of Coastal Georgia and Anderson College.

SSU will play their first seven games of the season on the road starting with double-headers at Paine (February 6) and South Carolina Beaufort (February 10).

The Lady Tigers will travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina to participate in the CIAA/SIAC Challenge on February 16-18 where teams from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association will play teams from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in a tournament.

Savannah State will open their conference slate on the road with a three-game series with Allen University (February 24-25) before hosting Flagler on February 27 in a double-header for their first home game of the season.

Following a road series at Albany State University (March 1-2), Savannah State returns home to host Paine in a double-header on March 5.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Hoover, Alabama to play in the SIAC Softball Crossover on March 12-14. They will play Kentucky State University and LeMoyne-Owen College on the first day of action and Spring Hill College and Miles College the following day. SSU will wrap up the tournament with games against Tuskegee University and Lane College.

Savannah State will venture to Brewton-Parker for a double-header on March 19 before returning to Savannah for a eight-game homestand with Clark Atlanta University (March 23-24), Fort Valley State University (March 28-29) and Coastal Georgia (April 9).

After a trip to Benedict College (April 12-13), the Lady Tigers will close the regular season at home with double-headers against Anderson (April 17) and Brewton-Parker (April 23). In between, SSU will host a three-game series with Edward Waters University on April 19-20.

The 2024 Cricket SIAC Softball Championships will be held April 30-May 2 at a location to be announced. In case of rain, the championships will conclude on May 3.
