BESSEMER, Al- The Savannah State University men's golf team is in second place following the first round of the Division II field of the PGA Works Collegiate Championships. The Tigers sit at +4 with a 288 team total. Fellow Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Kentucky State University leads the field with a -3 under and a 281 team total.

Bluefield State University (297) stands in third place followed by Lincoln University (301), Miles College (304), Winston-Salem State University (316), Virginia State University (319) and Johnson C. Smith University (336).

Korbin Allan is in second place at -3 under par 68. Allan is one shot behind Kentucky State's Micah Stangebye who is -4 under with a score of 67. Allan shot for par 11 times and made five birdies in the opening round.

Nicolas Macsuga is tied for fifth with four other golfers after shooting a 72 (+1) while
Jaden Saunders and
Lucas Parisi are tied for 12th with a 74 (+3).
Mark Greene shot an 80 (+9)and is tied for 26th with Winston-Salem State's Ahmad Raoul.

The tournament is being held at Shoal Creek Club and Bent Brook Golf Course. Shoal Creek is a 7,025-yard and par 72 course while Bent Brook is a 6,861-yard and 71 par course.
