Rountree Wins At USCB Duals

HARDEEVILLE, S.C.- The Savannah State University men's and women's cross country teams traveled across the Talmadge Bridge on October 24 to face University of South Carolina Beaufort in a Dual Meet. It was the second time this season the teams have meet in a dual meet.
 
USCB earned the sweep of Savannah State, winning the men's 4k race with 23 points while tallying 22 points in the women's 3k race. The SSU men had 32 points while the Lady Tigers had 35.
 
MEN'S RACE
Savannah State's Jadon Rountree was the top finisher among the 11 runners in the men's race after be clocked with a time of 14:46. Christian Landry claimed fifth place for the Tigers with a run of 16:32 while teammate Nehemiah Shanks was 7th after crossing the finish line at 17:29.
 
Rounding out the SSU men were Jordan Scruggs, Alex Loyd and Jayden Wilson who finished 9th, 10th and 11th. Scruggs and Loyd both finished with a time of 19:19 while Wilson crossed the finish line at the 20:24 mark.
 
WOMEN'S RACE
Ravyn Cystrunk was the first Savannah State runner to finish as she claimed third place among the 11 runners with a time of 14:50. Maddison Green and Sadrea Mabry finished back-to-back with times of 15:13 and 15:41 to finish in 5th and 6th places.
 
Kinya Jackson was 10th with a run of 17:39 and Shaniah McDaniels had a time of 17:57 to finish 11th.
 
USCB's Cydney Stevenson was the top female finisher with a time of 14:36.
