Savannah, Ga. – The Savannah State men's basketball team enter tonight's cross-divisional matchup with Miles College off a tough non-conference loss to Clayton State.

Savannah State has had a warm season so far, with big wins and some narrow losses. They won their first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game and then lost their second. They come into tonight .500 on the season and in SIAC action.

The Tigers will play on the road for the rest of December. In January, they will host seven home conference games.

LAST GAME
Coming off a big mid-week win over Flagler, Savannah State men's basketball dropped a non-conference game to Clayton State on Saturday, 62-49. Clayton State opened Saturday's game with a 6-0 run in the first three minutes. Za'Khari Cobb broke the run with with back-to-back field goals.

LAST GAME VS. MILES
Savannah State last faced Miles a year ago, on Dec. 19. 2021 at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Classic in Birmingham. The Tigers fell 53-65. Miles would go on to win the West Division with a 17-1 conference record, but SSU would go on to win the SIAC Championship. Both teams played in the NCAA Division II Championship after Miles earned an at-large bid. Savannah State is winless against Miles since rejoining the SIAC in 2019. They've dropped all five meetings with the Golden Bears.

OPPONENT SCOUTING REPORT
Hoping to repeat last year's highly successful season, Miles—who's ranked No. 8 in the D2SIDA South Region Media Poll—is off to a great start. They come into Tiger Arena with only one loss on the season. That loss was on Saturday against new SIAC member Edward Waters. They are led by junior guard #3 Rodney Battle who's putting up 18.0 points a game.
