Men's Golf

Korbin Allan, Tigers Medal At Big Blue Invite

Bluefield, Va. – In the final meet of the fall season, fifth-year senior Korbin Allan led the Savannah State men's golf team to victory in the Big Blue Invite.
 
Allan shot a two-over-par 72 in the opening round and then closed with a 74 to claim individual medalist honors with a two-round total of 146.
 
Savannah State Sophomore Jaden Saunders trailed Allan by only two strokes, shooting a 148 (73, 75) in the tournament, finishing runner-up in the individual race.
 
Senior, and Team Captain, Nick Macusga finished third in the individual standings with a 151 (74, 77) followed by freshman John Huffman (153; 80, 73) and junior Lucas Parisi (159; 85, 74).
 
The Tigers took first place medalist honors with a team score of 595 (299, 296). Bluefield State shot a team score of 623 (311, 312).
 
Alexander Hambleton led the Big Blue with a two round 156 (80, 73), tying for fifth place with teammate Tyler Higginbotham (156; 80, 76). Joel Bibber finished with a 158 (75, 83), followed by Case Tolliver (158; 80, 78) and Jack Clout (160; 82, 78)
 
The Par-70, two-round, dual meet was played at the Fincastle Golf Course in Bluefield, Virginia on Monday and Tuesday. 
 
The Savannah State men's golf team returns to action in February. They kick-off the spring season at the 2023 Albany State Spring Invitational on Feb. 18 in Montgomery, Alabama.
