Chance Named SIAC Cross Country Runner Of The Week

ATLANTA Ga. – Savannah State junior Kayla Chance was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women's Cross Country Runner Of The Week, the conference office announced in a press release today.

In the Lady Tigers' return to the field, Chance set a new school record at the Queen City Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina last weekend. Chance ran an 18:47 in the 5k, finishing 41st overall.

Savannah State cross country has not competed since 2019 following the cancelation of the 2020 season due to the pandemic. They last ran a meet in October of 2019.

They conclude the 2021 season with the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Cross Country Championship on Oct. 22.
