2020 SIAC Men's Championship Bracket | 2020 SIAC Women's Championship Bracket

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State men's and women's basketball teams are seeded and ready for their first post-season in NCAA Division II and their new conference.

The official Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) 2020 Basketball Championship Tournament bracket was set by the conference office on Friday morning after the regular season wrapped on Thursday night. The tournament will take place at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center from March 2-7 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The Savannah State men's basketball program finished the regular season as the No. 4 seed out of the SIAC East Division. The Tigers' 10-9 conference record and .526 winning percentage fell just behind Morehouse College. The Maroon Tigers claimed victory in their two final conference games this week to end with an 11-8 SIAC record, claiming the No. 3 seed from the East.

The Tigers will play Spring Hill (No. 5 West) on Monday, March 2 at 1:15 p.m. in Game #2 of the single-elimination tournament. In their only regular season match against Spring Hill, the Tigers fell 72-81 in Tiger Arena. If they win on Monday, Savannah State will play Miles College (No. 1 West) on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. in Game #13.

The Lady Tigers had an incredible regular season, finishing with a 10-7 SIAC record and .588 winning percentage, earning them the No. 2 seed in the SIAC East Division. Due to the uneven amount of women's teams (13) in the SIAC, the bracket for the women is slightly different than the men's.

Both the No. 1 seeds from each division are granted a bye like the men's bracket. But the No. 2 seed with the best winning percentage also gets a bye in the women's bracket. The Lady Tigers bested SIAC West No. 2 seed Central State who had a .566 win percentage during the regular season, earning them a first round bye.

Savannah State women's basketball open the tournament with Game #16 on Thursday, March 5 against the winner of Game #8, which will see Tuskegee (No. 3 West) face Albany State (No. 6 East)—two teams that Savannah State beat handedly during the regular season.

A win for the Lady Tigers on Thursday will get them into the semifinals on Friday at 1 p.m. against either Clark Atlanta (No. 4 East), Lane College (No. 5 West) or Miles (No. 1 West).

The two Savannah State basketball programs will be the fourth and fifth teams to represent Savannah State in an SIAC post-season tournament during the school's inaugural season within the conference. Savannah State men's and women's cross country were the first two, followed by women's volleyball last fall.
