SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University men's basketball and head coach Clevan Thompson have announced the Tigers' 2026-27 schedule, which features 27 regular-season contests and 12 home games inside Tiger Arena.
Savannah State will enter Thompson's second full season at the helm looking to build on a 2025-26 campaign in which the Tigers finished 16-12 overall and 15-9 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play.
The Tigers advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2026 SIAC Men's Basketball Championship after defeating Kentucky State, 81-79, in the opening round before falling to Miles, 48-47, in Morrow, Georgia.
Savannah State will tip off the new campaign with a pair of neutral-site contests in Franklin Springs, Georgia. The Tigers will face Auburn Montgomery on Friday, Nov. 13 before taking on host Emmanuel University on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Tigers will not have to wait long to play in front of the home crowd.
Savannah State opens its home schedule and SIAC play on Thursday, Nov. 19 against LeMoyne-Owen College at 7:30 p.m. inside Tiger Arena. Lane College follows on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m., giving the Tigers back-to-back conference home games to begin league play.
SSU steps back outside of conference action on Tuesday, Nov. 24 with a short road trip to Beaufort, South Carolina to face USC Beaufort at 7:30 p.m.
December begins with a challenging road swing through the SIAC West. Savannah State travels to Wilberforce, Ohio to face Central State on Dec. 3 before visiting Kentucky State in Frankfort, Kentucky on Dec. 5.
The Tigers return home for two conference matchups, welcoming Albany State to Tiger Arena on Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. before hosting Spring Hill on Dec. 12 at 3 p.m.
Savannah State closes out the 2026 calendar year on the road with visits to Tuskegee on Dec. 17 and Miles on Dec. 19.
The Tigers will ring in 2027 at home when longtime rival Morehouse visits Tiger Arena on Saturday, Jan. 2 for a 1 p.m. contest.
Savannah State then begins a stretch that will see five of its next six games played away from Tiger Arena. The Tigers face Fort Valley State in Fort Valley, Georgia on Jan. 7 before traveling to Atlanta to battle Clark Atlanta on Jan. 9.
SSU briefly returns home to host Benedict College on Jan. 13 before heading back on the road for four consecutive contests.
That stretch begins at Edward Waters in Jacksonville, Florida on Jan. 16 and continues at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina on Jan. 18. Savannah State then heads west to face LeMoyne-Owen in Memphis, Tennessee on Jan. 21 and Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee on Jan. 23.
Following the four-game road trip, the Tigers will have an opportunity to settle back into Tiger Arena with consecutive home games against Central State on Jan. 28 and Kentucky State on Jan. 30.
February opens with another two-game road swing. Savannah State travels to Albany State on Feb. 4 before heading to Mobile, Alabama to face Spring Hill on Feb. 6.
The Tigers will then return to Savannah to close the regular season with four consecutive home games.
Edward Waters comes to Tiger Arena on Saturday, Feb. 13, followed by Allen University on Monday, Feb. 15. Savannah State closes the regular season by hosting Tuskegee on Thursday, Feb. 18 and Miles College on Saturday, Feb. 20.
Postseason play begins with the opening round of the SIAC Men's Basketball Championship on Saturday, Feb. 27. Opening-round contests will be played on campus sites.
The remaining rounds of the SIAC Championship are scheduled for March 3-6 at the Arena at Southlake in Morrow, Georgia.
