SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State men's golf team shot a final round 295 to finish third at the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Golf Championship which was held at Crosswinds Golf Club.
This marks the final time that SSU will compete as a member of the conference in the MEAC Championships.
SSU ended the tournament with a three round score of 895 (300-300-295) to finish +31.
Zach Otto and
Dylan Mullaney finished tied for 10th in the tournament with a score of 224. Otto (76-73-75) shot 75 in the final round while Mullaney (73-73-78) carded a 78. Both golfers ended the tournament eight over par.
After shooting 77 in the first and second rounds,
Jaden Thiemann finished the third round with a 72 to give him a score of 226 to finish 14th overall.
Korbin Allen shot 151 (74-77-78) which put him tied for 16th while Tray Odum shot 151. Odum shot 81 on the opening day and 70 in the third round to finish 29th.
Augusta (842) was the overall winner followed by Bethune-Cookman (864), SSU, North Carolina A&T (922), Maryland-Eastern Shore (976) and North Carolina Central (1015).
The Jaguars shot 280 in the final round to finish 22 under while B-CU shot 290 to finish the tournament even.
Augusta's Alex Van Wyk was the low medalist, shooting a 71 on the final day to finish with a score of 209 which put him seven under.
