SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State men's rack team opened their 2019 outdoor season by hosting the annual Eyeopener Track Meet. The meet, which was held at Theodore Wright Stadium, drew teams from across the state of Georgia as well as South Carolina, Alabama, Florida and North Carolina.

Iverson Darius (200m),
Terrance Sessoms (800m) and Sahlu Atakilti (5000m) all had second place finishes in their events while
Carlous Bartee (100m & 200m),
Andre Valcin (400m), Suhieh Momamed (5000m) and Tracy Gatson long jump) claimed third in their events.

Darius had a time of 22.54, Sessoms was timed at 1:55.00 and Atakilti posted a time of 15:46.26. Bartee ran the 100m in 10.84 while posting a time of 22.57 in the 200m. Valcin had a time of 49.59, Momamed was clocked at 15:50.24 and Gatson had a leap of 6.45m.

Morgan Ellis-Foster and
Kymani Lawrence also competed in the 200m race. Ellis-Foster was fourth with a time of 22.81 and Lawrence was 16th with a run of 23.50.
Cameron Pack finished seventh in the 800m race after being timed at 2:01.56.

Ny'em Bozeman finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.88m while
Malcolm Ford was 10th in the triple jump with a jump of 12.15m and 24th in the long jump with a leap of 5.52m.

In the shot put, Michael Johnson (11.95m) was eighth, Ken Thomas (9.64m) finished 24th and Conner Vasher (9.45m) came in 25th.
