LANDOVER, Md.- Savannah State's Abbas Abbkar earned All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference honors for his performance in the 800m race at the MEAC Indoor Championships which was held at the Prince George Learning Complex.

Abbkar finished second in the race with a time of 1:54.53, which qualified him to receive all conference honors.

Morgan Ellis-Foster was fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.25. Ellis-Foster and his teammates on the distance medley squad were fifth in their race with a time of 10:35.23. Other members of the distance medley team are Terrence Sessoms, Andre Valcin and Abbkar.

In the 3000m race, Sahlu Atakilti finished seventh after being timed at 9:03.91. Also finishing seventh in their event was Tracy Gaston who competed in the long jump and had a leap of 6.82m.

Placing ninth in their respective events were Sessoms, Malcolm Ford, Conner Vasher and the 4x400m relay team.

Sessoms had a time of 4:34.91 in the one mile run, Ford had a leap of 12.24m in the long jump, Vasher had a toss of 8.82m in the wight throw and Valcin, Abbkar, Ellis-Foster and Cameron Pack comprised a time of 3:25.71 in their relay event.

Suhieh Mohamed finished 11th in the 5000m with a time of 16:03.77 and Michael Johnson was 11th in the shot put with a toss of 11.95m.

Savannah State finished the meet in ninth place with 21 points.

North Carolina A&T won the conference title with 191 points while Bethune-Cookman was second with 141 points and Norfolk State came in third with 119 points.
