COLUMBIA, S.C.- Dominique Bailey won his second straight decathlon championship at the 2025 SIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship which was held April 223-25 at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track at the University of South Carolina.
In the process, Bailey broke his own school record which was 5,243 points that was set last year with 5,827 points.
Also winning first place at the meet were
Jadon Rountree and
Xavier Wilson.
Rountree won the 800m race with a time of 1:53.80 and
Xavier Wilson captured the triple jump with a leap of 14.47m.
On the first day of action, Bailey and
Jayden Wilson took part in the decathlon.
Bailey took first place in the long jump and high jump while finishing second in the 100m race. He also finished fourth in the shot put and 400m race. Wilson was 12th in the high jump and 400m, 14th in the 100m and shot put and 15th in the long jump.
Donovan Holdip earned the team five points with his fourth place finish in the hammer throw following his toss of 39.48m while
Billy Johnson added two more points in the long jump with a leap of 6.64m which was good enough for seventh place.
Xavier Wilson was 10th in the long jump with a jump of 6.47m and Bailey was 15th after his leap of 6.32m.
Nyzaveon Thompson qualified for the finals of the 400m hurdles race with his time of 55.19 in the preliminaries.
On the second day in the decathlon, Bailey was second in the javelin, third in the discus, fifth in the 1500m seventh in the pole vault and eighth in the 110m hurdles.
Jayden Wilson finished third in the pole vault, ninth in the discus, 14th in the 110m hurdles and javelin an 18 in the 1500m race.
Jayden Wilson was 11th in the decathlon, finishing with 4207 points.
In the field events,
Tony Rountree was second in the shot put with a throw of 14.64m while
Matthew McWilliams was 13th with his throw of 12.84m.
Jayden Wilson was fifth in the pole vault with his toss of 3.60m and McWilliams was sixth in the javelin with his throw of 32.29.
Billy Johnson was third in the triple jump with a leap of 14.16m and in the discus,
Evan Guyton finished third with a throw of 43.35m and McWilliams was fifth with his throw of 28.58m.
Bailey finished sixth in the high jump with a jump of 1.90m and
Raymond McKoy was seventh with a 1.90m.
On the track, Meon'Tavious McLeod was third in the 100m race with a run of 10.40 while
Yastremski Johnson was 16th with his time of 10.83.
Shaun Eason's run of 10.88 was good enough for 18th and
Tyler Phillips was 22nd after his run of 10.91.
In the 400m hurdles,
Nyzaveon Thompson was sixth with his time of 54.36 and
Billy Johnson was ninth with his run of 58.48.
Kajuan Davis claimed third in the 110m hurdles with his time of 14.70 while Thompson was fifth after his run of 14.81 and
Billy Johnson finished 10th with his run of 15.49.
Kaden Christy was ninth in the 400m with a time of 48.37 and
Jadon Rountree finished 17th with a run of 49.64 while
Tony Rountree was 18th in the 1500m race following his run of 4:37.55.
In the relay races, the 4x100m team of Phillips, Davis, McLeod and
Yastremski Johnson was third with their run of 40.69 while the 4x400m squad of Christy, Davis, Thompson and McLeod was 10th with a time of 3:28.89.
Savannah State finished fourth overall with 92.50 points.
Benedict won first place at the meet.
