SAVANNAH, Ga. – After having a home game Wednesday canceled due to winter weather in Savannah, the Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-9, 0-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) opens MEAC play in Baltimore, Md., against Coppin State University (1-12, 0-1 MEAC) Saturday at 2 p.m.
With the Kennesaw State University canceled Wednesday, the Lady Tigers trip to Baltimore for two games will end an eight-game roadstand.
Junior forward
Kaylee Allen leads the Lady Tigers with 12.4 points per game, which ranks 12th in the MEAC, and averages 3.9 rebounds, while junior guard
Donasja Scott averages 11.3 points, which ranks 18
th in the conference, and 6.2 rebounds.
Freshman center
Alexxus Sowell leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per game, which ranks seventh in the MEAC, while freshman guard
Heniaya Moton averages 6.7 points.
Coppin State opened MEAC play Wednesday with a 71-57 loss at Norfolk State University and has lost the last 10 games. The Eagles are led by Genesis Lucas with 18.8 points per game and Chance Graham with 11.7 points per game and 8.6 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers stay in Baltimore to face Morgan State University Monday at 5:30 p.m. before returning home for one of two four-game homestands starting with University of Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday, Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
