SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University softball team (0-27, 0-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) starts a 10-game roadstand starting with MEAC Southern Division leader Florida A&M University (14-24-1, 9-0 MEAC) this weekend in Tallahassee, Fla.
 
The Lady Tigers play a single game Friday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPNU and a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
 
Sophomore third baseman Cortni Jones leads the team with a .500 (14-for-28) batting average, while senior right fielder Alexis Singleton is batting .373 (31-for-83) with 11 runs scored and 10 RBIs.
 
On the mound, senior pitcher Amanda McDowell leads the Lady Tigers with a 9.29 ERA with five complete games and 63 strikeouts, while sophomore Faith Dickerson has a 10.56 ERA with three complete games and 18 strikeouts.
 
As a team, the Lady Tigers are hitting .236 with 29 extra base hits and 57 runs scored, while on the mound, SSU has a 10.55 ERA with eight complete games and 87 strikeouts.
 
FAMU has won the last nine games, all MEAC games.  The Rattlers are led by Amber Fullwood with a .322 (39-for-121) batting average, while Alexis Day has a .311 (33-for-106) batting average.
 
On the mound, Kenya Pereira has a 4-9 record with a 3.14 ERA, seven complete games and 103 strikeouts, while Tahlia Snider has a 6-2 record with a 3.51 ERA, two complete games and 52 strikeouts.
 
As a team, the Rattlers are hitting .254 with 73 extra base hits and scored 167 runs, while on the mound, FAMU has a 4.77 ERA with 15 complete games and 202 strikeouts.
 
The Lady Tigers stay in Florida to face Jacksonville University Wednesday with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. in Jacksonville.
