SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (7-14, 5-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) hosts league leading Hampton University (13-8, 7-1 MEAC) Saturday at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena for Winter Homecoming.

Tiyonda Davis recorded her third consecutive double-double with 12 rebounds and 13 points, while graduate student Lauren "Gaby" Moss added 14 points and five rebounds. Senior forward

Kenyata Hendrix each added 11 points each.
Hendrix leads the team with 11.1 points per game, while Moss is averaging 10.8 points per game. Davis leads the team with 9.0 rebounds per game and with 3.5 blocks per game, and averages 7.3 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game and 5.9 points per game.
Davis ranks third in the MEAC in rebounds per game (9.0), which ranks 67
th in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and is second in blocks per game (3.5), which ranks sixth in the NCAA and eighth in the country with 69 blocks. In her career, the Athens, Ga., native holds the school record in the Division I era with 264 career blocks and with 897 career rebounds. She also ranks eighth with 822 career points and sixth with 355 career made field goals. Davis' 69 blocks this season ranks fourth in school history in a single season, five behind third place.
Hendrix holds the school record in the Division I era with 176 career made 3-pointers and is the third Lady Tiger to record 1,000-plus points with 1,117, which ranks second in school history, and ranks third with 390 made field goals, two made field goals to place second.
The two schools meet on the court earlier this season, with Hampton coming away with a 75-46 home win on Jan. 9 in Hampton, Va.
Hampton snapped its eight game winning streak with a 68-65 home loss to MDES the last time out on Wednesday. The Pirates are led by Monna Finney-Smith with 11.1 points per game and averages 5.1 rebounds per game, while Kaylah Lupoe averages 7.7 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Lady Tigers continue the three-game homestand with Norfolk State Monday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena. Earlier this season, SSU trailed by as much as 23 points, but fell to the Spartans 61-55 on Jan. 11 in Norfolk, Va.
