SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (10-16, 7-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) travels to Greensboro, N.C., to face North Carolina A&T State University (11-15, 7-6 MEAC) Saturday at 2 p.m.  The Lady Tigers have won eight of the past 11 games.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to Coppin State 59-47 Monday in Tiger Arena after a slow shooting start.  Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix led the team with 20 points and added three rebounds and shot 7-for-16 from the floor, including 5-for-10 from the 3-point line, while senior center Tiyonda Davis added nine rebounds, seven points, two blocks and two steals and sophomore Deyja Brown added five points and two rebounds.
 
The Aggies lead the series with an 11-3 record and won both meetings last season.
 
Hendrix leads the team with 11.6 points per game, while graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss is averaging 10.7 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 8.9 rebounds per game and with 3.8 blocks per game and averages 8.0 points per game, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards is averaging 6.7 rebounds per game and 6.7 points per game.
 
In conference play, Hendrix leads the team with 11.9 points per game, while Moss is averaging 10.8 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 10.2 rebounds per game and with 4.3 blocks per game and averages 9.2 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 7.2 rebounds per game and 7.5 points per game.
 
Davis ranks fourth in the MEAC in rebounds per game (8.9), which ranks 63rd in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and is second in blocks per game (3.8), which ranks third in the NCAA and third in the country with 94 blocks.  In her career, the Athens, Ga., native holds the school record in the Division I era with 289 career blocks and with 944 career rebounds.  She also ranks seventh with 878 career points and fourth with 378 career made field goals.  Davis recorded four blocks at Morgan State to give her 92 blocks this season, which set the school record in a single season.
 
Hendrix holds the school record in the Division I era with 185 career made 3-pointers and is the third Lady Tiger to record 1,000-plus points with 1,184, which ranks second in school history, and ranks second with 412 made field goals.
 
North Carolina A&T State has won six of the last nine games, but has lost the last two games on the road against Howard University (69-61) and University of Maryland Eastern Shore (58-50).  The Aggies are led by Aliyah Kilpatrick with 11.3 points per game and averages 5.2 rebounds per game, while Dana Brown averages 10.7 points per game and Alexus Lessears leads the team with 6.5 rebounds per game.
 
The Lady Tigers stay in North Carolina to face North Carolina Central University (6-19, 5-8 MEAC) Monday at 5:30 p.m.
