SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (10-14, 7-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) travels to Baltimore, Md., to face Morgan State University (5-19, 3-9 MEAC) Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hill Field House.  The Lady Tigers have won eight of the last nine games.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers defeated Allen University 91-48 in the final nonconference game of the season.  Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix led SSU with a game-high 19 points and a career-high 13 assists and added seven rebounds, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards tied a career-high with 18 points and added six rebounds.  Senior center Tiyonda Davis added 10 points, six rebounds, three blocks and four steals, while graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss added 10 points and four rebounds. 
 
The Lady Tigers hold a 5-4 advantage over the Bears and has won four of the last six meetings including a 66-62 overtime win in Tiger Arena on Jan. 21.
 
Hendrix leads the team with 11.4 points per game, while Moss is averaging 11.2 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 8.9 rebounds per game and with 3.8 blocks per game and averages 7.8 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 6.9 rebounds per game and 6.7 points per game.
 
In conference play, Moss leads the team with 12.1 points per game, while Hendrix is averaging 11.5 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 10.3 rebounds per game and with 4.0 blocks per game and averages 8.8 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game and 7.6 points per game.
 
Davis ranks fourth in the MEAC in rebounds per game (8.9), which ranks 61st in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and is second in blocks per game (3.8), which ranks third in the NCAA and third in the country with 88 blocks.  In her career, the Athens, Ga., native holds the school record in the Division I era with 283 career blocks and with 922 career rebounds.  She also ranks seventh with 856 career points and tied for fourth with 368 career made field goals.  Davis' 88 blocks this season ranks second in school history in a single season, four from setting the school record.
 
Hendrix holds the school record in the Division I era with 179 career made 3-pointers and is the third Lady Tiger to record 1,000-plus points with 1,156, which ranks second in school history, and ranks second with 401 made field goals.
 
After starting 0-9 in conference play, Morgan State has won the last three games against North Carolina Central University (44-42), Delaware State (74-47) and Howard *73-72).  The Bears are led by Braennan Farrar with 12.0 points per game, Tykyrah Williams with 10.4 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game, while Zuri White leads the team with 6.1 rebounds per game. 
 
The Lady Tigers return home to face Coppin State University (6-18, 6-6 MEAC) Monday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
