SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (9-14) finishes the three game homestand with the final nonconference game of the season against Allen University (11-16) Monday at 7 p.m. in Tiger Arena as the Lady Tigers have won seven of the last eight games. 
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers defeated Norfolk State 59-53 in Tiger Arena last Monday.  Graduate student Lauren "Gaby" Moss led SSU with a game-high 16 points on 5-for-8 shooting, while senior guard Kenyata Hendrix added 13 points and four rebounds.  Senior center Tiyonda Davis added eight points, seven rebounds and tied a career-high eight blocks, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards added 10 points and eight rebounds.  
 
Moss leads the team with 11.3 points per game, while Hendrix is averaging 11.0 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 9.0 rebounds per game and with 3.9 blocks per game and averages 7.7 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 6.9 rebounds per game and 6.2 points per game.
 
Davis ranks fourth in the MEAC in rebounds per game (9.1), which ranks 61st in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and is second in blocks per game (3.9), which ranks fifth in the NCAA and fourth in the country with 85 blocks.  In her career, the Athens, Ga., native holds the school record in the Division I era with 280 career blocks and with 916 career rebounds.  She also ranks eighth with 822 career points and tied for fifth with 364 career made field goals.  Davis' 85 blocks this season ranks second in school history in a single season, seven from setting the school record.
 
Hendrix holds the school record in the Division I era with 178 career made 3-pointers and is the third Lady Tiger to record 1,000-plus points with 1,137, which ranks second in school history, and ranks second with 396 made field goals.
 
The Lady Tigers hold a perfect 6-0 record against the Yellow Jackets. 
 
Allen has lost the last three games and four of the last five.  The Yellow Jackets are led by Kemya Thomas with 17.9 points per game and averages 3.6 rebounds per game, while Dekoya Mack averages 16.7 points per game and Wynter Straw leads the team with 4.7 rebounds per game.
 
The Lady Tigers travel to Baltimore, Md., to face Morgan State University Saturday at 2 p.m.  Earlier this season, SSU defeated the Bears 66-62 in overtime on Jan. 21 in Tiger Arena.
