SAVANNAH, Ga. – In the final game on the 2017 year, the Savannah State University women's basketball (2-8) travels south to face Jacksonville University (9-5) in Jacksonville, Fla., Sunday.
Junior forward Kaylee Allen leads the Lady Tigers with 12.4 points per game, which ranks 11th in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, and averages 4.1 rebounds, while junior guard Donasja Scott averages 11.9 points, which ranks 16
th in the conference, and 6.5 rebounds.
Freshman center Alexxus Sowell leads the team with 7.9 rebounds per game, which ranks sixth in the MEAC, while freshman guard Heniaya Moton averages 7.0 points.
Jacksonville has won five of the last six games, including a 68-58 win over MEAC opponent Bethune-Cookman University. The Dolphins are led by Jasmyn Brown with 12.9 points per game, Brandi Bule with 11.6 points per game and Kayla Gordon with 10.5 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game.
The Lady Tigers open the 2018 year with a home game against Kennesaw State University Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
