SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's volleyball team (3-22, 1-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) hosts North Carolina A&T State University (12-11, 4-2 MEAC) Friday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
The Lady Tigers are led by junior outside hitter
Jennifer Rosado and freshman outside hitter
Amanda Rullan Vilanova with 1.50 kills per set each, senior setter
Alee Quint with 4.27 assists per set and freshman libero
Leiri Melendez with 3.13 digs per set.
Freshman middle blocker
Tyran Chenault leads the team with 0.88 blocks per set and is fourth with 1.35 kills per set, while freshman setter
Salma Gonzalez averages 1.99 digs per set, 3.01 assists per set and 1.27 kills per set.
In the earlier meeting this season, the Aggies defeated the Lady Tigers 3-0 (22-25, 14-25, 17-25) on Oct. 6 in Greensboro, N.C. The Lady Tigers were led by freshmen middle blockers
Oneillia Fuller and
Tyran Chenault with nine kills each, while Quint led with 17 assists and Melendez led with 12 digs. NCAT were led by Samara Brown and Edie Brewer with nine kills each, Brewer with 16 assists and Milanna Morgan with seven digs.
NCAT is 6-2 in the last eight matches and are led by Courteney Pitt with 2.30 kills per set, Brewer with 5.92 assists per set and Morgan with 2.73 digs per set.
The Lady Tigers face Georgia Southern University Monday in Statesboro, Ga., for the road finale at 6:30 p.m.
