SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State University and Benedict College both finished with identical 11-8 conference records but SSU won the tiebreaker because the Lady Tigers split their season series with Fort Valley State University while Benedict lost both of their matches against the Wildcats. SSU and Benedict split their matching during the regular season.

By winning the tiebreaker, Savannah State will enter the upcoming Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament as the third seed in the SIAC East.

The Lady Tigers will play Central State University, the second seed in the SIAC West.

During the regular season, Savannah State defeated the Marauders 3-1 in the SIAC Crossover on October 10 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Savannah State enters the tournament having lost their last four matches with a 15-10 overall record.

As a team, SSU ranks in the top five in the SIAC in five categories. kills, assists, digs, points and hitting percentage.

The Lady Tigers are second in kills (11.73), third in assists (10.80) and digs (14.68) and fifth in points (15.31) and hitting percentage (.181).

Individually, SSU's Amiyah Walker is second in the conference in assists (7.89), Aaliyah Saunders is fourth in hitting percentage (.313) while Savannah Everett is fifth in kills (3.32) and points (3.84). Saniaa Dickey is fifth in digs with 3.48 per match.

Saunders leads the team with 66 blocks and Everett has 34 service aces.

The SIAC Tournament will take place November 20-22, 2025 on the campus of Spring Hill College at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
